Mobile app development,
engineered to spec.

↳ architecture agreed before the first screen

Softera is a mobile app development company based in Cairo, Egypt, working remotely with clients worldwide. We build native Android and iOS applications, cross-platform apps in Flutter and React Native, and the backends behind them — for teams that need the foundation right the first time rather than refactored six months after launch.

What we build

Four things, done properly. If a project needs something outside this, we'll tell you rather than learn on your budget.

Native

Android, built to last

Clean Architecture, offline-first data, strict off-main-thread work, and a test suite that actually runs in CI. Play Store compliance handled, not discovered at review time.

Kotlin · Compose · Coroutines · Room · Hilt

Cross-platform

One codebase, when it fits

Flutter and React Native are the right call for some products and the wrong one for others. We'll say which before you commit to a year of it.

Flutter · React Native · TypeScript

Backend

The part that decides if it scales

APIs, data models, auth and real-time sync designed alongside the app rather than bolted on, so the client isn't fighting the server.

Node · REST · PostgreSQL · WebSockets

Leadership

An engineer who has led teams

Architecture review, hiring input, code review standards, and hands-on delivery when your team is stretched. Available embedded or advisory.

How a project runs

Four stages, in order. You get a working build at the end of every increment — not a demo at the end of the quarter.

Stage 01

Scope

We map what the product has to do, what it doesn't, and where the hard parts are. Written down, priced, agreed.

Stage 02

Architect

Module boundaries, data flow, offline strategy and API contract — settled before anyone writes a screen.

Stage 03

Build

Two-week increments. Every one ends with a build you can install on a real device and use.

Stage 04

Hand over

Documentation, CI pipeline, store listings and a codebase your own team can pick up without us.

Questions clients ask before starting

Direct answers, from projects we've actually delivered.

How much does it cost to build a mobile app in Egypt?

A production mobile app built in Egypt typically costs between $8,000 and $40,000, depending on scope. A focused MVP with one platform and a simple backend sits at the lower end; multi-platform apps with payments, real-time features or offline sync sit at the upper end. Egyptian rates run roughly 40–60% below Western European equivalents for comparable seniority.

How long does it take to build a mobile app?

Most production mobile apps take three to six months from scope to store launch. A single-platform MVP can ship in eight to twelve weeks. Apps requiring payment integration, real-time sync or offline-first data typically need four to eight months. Store review adds a few days for Google Play and up to two weeks for the App Store.

Should I build a native Android app or use Flutter?

Choose native Android when the app depends on platform-specific hardware, background services or deep OS integration, or when long-term maintainability by an Android team matters most. Choose Flutter when you need both platforms quickly from one codebase and the app is primarily UI and network calls. The deciding factor is usually how much platform-specific work the product actually needs.

Can I hire a mobile development team in Egypt to work remotely?

Yes. Egypt sits in UTC+2, which overlaps the full European working day and the morning hours of US Eastern time. Softera works entirely remotely with clients worldwide, using written architecture decisions and two-week increments so progress stays visible without requiring the client to be in the same timezone.

Who owns the source code after the project ends?

The client owns all source code, assets and accounts outright on final payment. Softera hands over the repository, CI pipeline, documentation and store listings so an in-house team can continue development without the original agency. There is no ongoing licence, retainer requirement or proprietary framework lock-in.
